On first glance it does not seem that Crème Brûlée can be made vegan. Mais au contraire that is not the case. We can quite easily substitute and tweak to create a beautiful and, most importantly, delicious Vegan Crème Brûlée. This is a quick and easy dessert which will go down a treat with both your vegan and not so vegan friends.

Vegan Coconut Cupcakes
These vegan coconut cupcakes are the perfect little afternoon snack. Not only are they easy to make but they are also customisable and ready within a short period of time (perfect for those days when you are craving a sweet treat). I based these on the original recipe from BBC Good Food which you can find here.
…Cinnamon Pear Cake
Cinnamon and pear are such a great combination hence this lovely Cinnamon Pear cake. This recipe is an updated version of a cake you would serve for Kaffee und Kuchen back home. I would pair (pardon the pun) this cake with tea especially if you have green or white teas or a variation on the two. Herbal infusions are also welcome to join the party.
…Lemon Lavender Scones
Lemon and lavender are two distinct flavours and when you add them together you get a winner like Lemon Lavender Scones. Though I may be biased because I am a bit of a scone girl. And a lavender girl … but if you do not like lavender you can either omit it or use another edible flower for a pretty effect.

How to make vegan condensed milk
Finding dairy free alternative to some dairy staples can sometimes be as easy as going to Carrefour and as difficult as attempting it yourself. This time it was the latter. At least I can now tell you how to make vegan condensed milk. It is quite simple but does take time if you are making a larger quantity of vegan condensed milk.

Tuorta da nusch
There is a beautiful part of Switzerland known as the Bündnerland and from here come some of my favourite foods like Tuorta da nusch, Silser Kugeln (especially from Furnaria Grond), Salsiz and Pizokel. I use to live in the Engadin which is a part of the Canton of Graubünden. It is rustic and majestic while also providing a sense of peace and of course great food.

Raspberry Thyme Nice Cream
Raspberry Thyme Nice Cream is a much needed freezer item now that the Dubai temperatures are getting closer to 40 Celcius. I am actually really glad to have higher temperatures because more often than not I am cold. Yes even in Dubai. Having an ice cream, or nice cream in my case, on hand is much needed after being outside. This raspberry thyme nice cream recipe is too easy. Three ingredients, a blender and seven minutes are really all you need. Just don’t tell your guests.

Quick Blueberry Muffins
Oh blueberry muffins. The darling of the brunch and coffee shop scene. The healthy not so healthy (really who are we kidding?) snack. That being said I do believe blueberry muffins are not going anywhere. Bite into them and you are greeted with blueberries bursting with flavour and a dense crumble. Maybe you make them a bit healthier with whole wheat flour instead of all purpose and use less sugar; however you enjoy them make sure to also try the below recipe.

One Bowl Granola Berry Muffins
In February I started my zero waste/low waste journey. And I love it! I am making so many more things myself including the granola which goes on and in these granola berry muffins. In addition to the granola I also made the quinoa milk which I used for these muffins. Muffins are great for a quick snack, something extra for on a trip or even as part of your meal prep as they freeze well.

Vegan Hazelnut Chocolate Cake
Do you ever look into your pantry, cupboards, freezer or fridge find an ingredient and think (or say … no judgement) that you will make something with it? This is what happened on the weekend. I had leftover ground hazelnuts in the freezer and decided to make a hazelnut chocolate cake. It ended up being a vegan hazelnut chocolate cake because, once again, I did not have any eggs at home. My general lack of eggs at home also resulted in this beauty. I may be on to something.
