Glühwein is the quintessential Christmas and winter beverage but not everyone can consume alcohol which is why this hot apple punch, which is also alcohol free, is such a great alternative. It is easy to make, makes your home smell amazing and is a crowd pleaser. Plus it warms you from the inside out. What more can you ask for?
Hot apple punch can be customised to your taste. With different spices and even citrus fruit to make your taste buds tingle.
Hot Apple Punch Recipe
1 litre apple juice
3 slices lemon, 0.5cm thick
3 slices organge, 0.5cm thick
2 cinnamon sticks
1 pinch cloves
1 tsp honey, can omit
Add all of the ingredients for the hot apple punch to a large pan and bring to a simmer. Stir often and let simmer for 45 minutes. Your home will begin to smell amazing so there is no need to cover the pan with a lid. If company has not arrived yet then turn the heat to low and cover. This recipe is easy to multiply and make large batches of so it is perfect for serving at a holiday party. I made large batch of this for a holiday party at my home and it perfumed the air perfectly. Paired with some different home made Christmas cookies, especially Mailänderli, and good company you are set for a lovely time at home with family and friends. Isn’t that what Christmas is about?
I hope you will have a wonderful winter season and if you are celebrating Christmas a wonderful Christmas with those you love; near or far, I hope you will be able to connect with those you hold dear.
Yum, sounds fabulous 😍
Thanks! I hope you have a chance to try it.
I love this!!! Such a great alternative to alcohol. I’ve never made hot apple punch so I am adding this to my list.
So easy and really delicious 🙂
This sounds like a wonderfully warming recipe, Michelle! Possibly one to save for our winter. Australia is in summer at this time of year and it’s super hot! It will be a delicious addition to our winter recipes though 😊
Hi Gabby, I can understand that 🙂 I also have some summer sippers on holdthemoo.com which may be of interest to you. Have a great summer!
This looks wonderful. I have two little kids and at parties I’m always looking for something special to make for them as well. (Obviously great to have a non-alcoholic version for adults too!)
Exactly. And as an adult you don’t feel like you are stuck with a boring juice because it is still flavourful.
Perfect for me and my prego self!!
Congrats!
This is great – it was ncie to offer an alternative to mulled wine to drivers and kids at a recent party, everyone raved about it!
So true; safety first. Happy Christmas!
